Sharing the Gospel in Natural Ways

The principle
The Savior can help us share His gospel in natural and normal ways.
What the lesson is for
Give students one concrete conversational skill they can use this week, so that sharing the gospel stops being a speech they dread and becomes a question they ask.

What was Jeremiah's objection, and what did the Lord say back? Then in the Isaiah passage: what is the one thing here you would most want someone you love to know?

Supplies, board work and timing. Never printed on the cards.
SUPPLIES: a hand mirror to hold up during the Elder Cook quotation. THE OPENING is cheap and works: two or three students describe a favourite food or vacation and why they would recommend it, then the class holds up 1, 2 or 3 fingers for how interested they now are. The point lands by itself — we share what we like easily, and we survive it when people are not interested. THE ISAIAH PASSAGES ARE A DELIBERATE CALLBACK: Isaiah 1:18 was 09-15 and Isaiah 25:4, 8–9 was YESTERDAY. Say that out loud — they are not being handed new material, they are being asked what of it they would want someone they love to have. HESITANCY: Enoch (Moses 6:27, 31) and Jeremiah both objected before they obeyed. Jeremiah's 'I cannot speak: for I am a child' is exactly what a fifteen-year-old feels, and the Lord's answer was not 'yes you can' but 'I am with thee.' THE MIRROR SKILL — Define, Model, Practice. MODEL IT YOURSELF FIRST: ask a student about their weekend, listen properly, then tell them about yours including something good from church. Do not skip the modelling; the practice falls flat without it. Second of the Missionary Preparation arc (196–200).
